role. Acton uses both traditional and cutting edge information to help parents provide a nurturing, secure, and loving environment
in which they and their children can thrive.
Spiritual Gifts:
From an introductory talk, to a full-blown workshop, with up to four 2-hour
sessions, using predominantly the Network Spiritual Gifts Inventory and workshop material. This workshop introduces the
concept of lay ministries being driven by the combined Spiritual Gifts mix of the congregation. Acton and/or Jim can present
this workshop program for church members, or train church leadership to present it themselves.
Inner Healing:
What it is, why we need it, and how we receive it (May include preliminary
training for prayer teams interested in this ministry).
A Woman In God's Eyes:
Understanding who we are, looking through God's eyes and perspective, versus
the roles, relationships, and responsibilities that generally define us.
Speaking the Truth in Love:
An honest look at Godly ways (vs. Un-Godly ways) of handling conflict
and confidences in the relationships of life.
Prayer:
What, where, when, how, and why... Basics, and then some. This includes information
on the variety of prayer ministries available to parishes wishing to broaden their scope of offerings and training if so desired.
How then, Shall I Live?
Deut. 32:46 "Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this
day so you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. They are not just idle words for you, they
are your life!" (Exclamation added) How, as Christians, as disciples or followers of Jesus, do we live out His nature, His
character, in all that we do and say in the roles, relationships, and responsibilities of our lives?
Forgiveness Issues:
Pulling from a number of sources, this retreat focuses on freedom from one
of life's most common and consuming bondages.
Return to Eden:
How we as sons & daughters of Adam & Eve might confront the challenges
of our woundedness and sin nature caused by the fall, and reclaim our God-intended right relationship with each other, and
with Him who made us to be for the praise of His glory.
